The place where Himalayas stand tall today was not always like this. The Himalayas was transformed in their present form out of a sea which was called Tethys. Millions of years ago strong movements within the crust of earth lead to creation of Himalayan mountain range. Flora and fauna within the Himalayan region is also very unique and home to numerous varieties of animals and birds. As Himalayan region has to face very harsh climate during winters the flora and fauna of the region has also adopted itself to survive these adverse climatic conditions. The unique and famous varieties of trees found in this region include: Blue Pines, Deodars, Silver Firs, Oaks, Birch and Maples. There are also different species of animals found here, they include: Snow Leopard, Chital, Himalayan Tigers, Wild Boars, Elephant, Musk Deer, Red Panda and Black Beer. Himalayas also is summer home for lot of migratory birds which travel thousands of miles every year to reach Himalayas. Few of these birds have also developed capabilities to brave the chilling Himalayan winters and have made it their all season home. As you go high on altitudes in Himalayas the temperatures drop. The winters are very harsh and definitely a good time to visit this part of the world. The Best time to visit Himalayas would be in summers (between April to September).
